Abortion Reporting: Washington (2020)

The state statistics show that there were 16,050 resident abortions performed in Washington in 2020. However, the CDC report shows that there were 16,909 total abortions that occurred in the state in 2020, of which 16,057 were performed on state residents.

Abortion Reporting: Arizona (2021)

In 2021, there were 13,998 abortions reported in Arizona, an increase of 5.5 percent from 2020. Abortions performed on Arizona residents also increased by 5.4 percent, while chemical abortions on state residents increased by 1.5 percent.

Abortion Reporting: District of Columbia (2020)

Abortion data for the District of Columbia is available in the U.S. Centers for Disease Control’s 2020 abortion surveillance report. D.C. continues to have one of the highest abortion rates in the country.

Abortion Reporting: Rhode Island (2020)

Rhode Island’s 2020 abortion statistics have not yet been published by the state but are available in the latest abortion surveillance report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The national report shows that between 2019 (2,099 abortions) and 2020 (2,611), abortions reported in Rhode Island increased by 24.4 percent and chemical abortion use increased by 49.1 percent.

Abortion Reporting: Nevada (2020)

Nevada’s 2020 abortion statistics were provided to the Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI) by the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services upon request. The report shows that total abortions as well as the total number of chemical abortions that occurred in the state increased from 2019.

Fact Sheet: Abortions at 15 Weeks in the United States

Despite claims made by many in the abortion industry, abortions do occur after 15 weeks gestation, when babies can feel pain. Research shows that abortions after 15 weeks are most frequently performed for the same reasons as earlier abortions.

Abortion Reporting: Delaware (2020)

Delaware’s 2020 abortion report was published online by the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services. The report shows that abortions increased in 2020 from 2019.

Abortion Reporting: Colorado (2021)

Colorado’s 2021 abortion report was published online by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment in May 2022. The report shows that abortions increased from 2020. This is the second state summary from Charlotte Lozier Institute covering calendar year 2021 from states that publish annual reports.
