Ileen Herrero-Szostak, M.D.
Associate ScholarDr. Ileen Herrero-Szostak, M.D., is a board-certified Family Physician. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, she completed her college education at the University of Rochester, NY, proceeded by her medical doctorate from the State of New York Upstate Medical University.
Over the last 24 years, she has had diverse patient care experience working in different settings including primary care outpatient practices, urgent care, home visits, STI and well women care clinics, and telemedicine. Her main area of interest has been women’s care, with a focus on education and prevention, especially among the Hispanic population and the underserved.
Over her years in practice, she has served in many leadership roles, including serving pro-life organizations and pregnancy resource centers as a board member, medical advisor, and physician employee, as well as providing well women care and STI screening and treatment. She has often collaborated with local and national radio stations covering pro-life issues and news, and has been part of the creation of educational, written, and video material.
Dr. Herrero is fully bilingual in English and Spanish and uses her skills as a translator of technical medical and non-medical documents in her work. Most recently, she has become a medical missions leader with Global Health Outreach, a Christian Medical & Dental Associations (CMDA) organization, providing compassionate care to refugees, those who have been sex-trafficked, and people who lack access to medical care.
She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Board of Family Medicine, the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and CMDA.
