Zachary Sluzala, Ph.D.

Director of Lozier Library & Research Scholar

Zachary Sluzala, Ph.D. is Director of Lozier Library & Research Scholar for Charlotte Lozier Institute, where he uses his interdisciplinary research background to advance our understanding and protection of human life.

Zachary received his B.S. in Neuroscience & Psychology from Baldwin Wallace University, where he was a Choose Ohio First STEM Scholar and member of the Honors Program. He went on to graduate school at the University of Michigan where he received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Neuroscience, as well as a graduate certificate in Science, Technology & Public Policy. Zachary’s dissertation research investigated modification of small heat shock proteins, and the neuroprotective roles of these modifications in the context of diabetic retinopathy. This work was supported in part through two grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

During his Ph.D., Zachary also served as a graduate student health policy fellow at The Heritage Foundation, where he researched clinical laboratory and clinical testing regulations in the context of Covid-19 testing. He has also served in a teaching capacity both at the undergraduate and graduate level for several neuroscience and psychology courses.
