Today Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI), the research arm of the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List), published a new report on emerging abortion trends in the United States. Ahead of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as the Guttmacher Institute, CLI has the first analysis of trends revealed by the latest available state abortion reports from calendar year 2018

North Dakota’s abortion report for 2019 was published in June 2020. There were 20 fewer abortions in 2019 than in 2018.

South Carolina 2019 abortion statistics compiled by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control show that abortions increased from the previous year but remain low compared to earlier years.

Abortion Reporting: Michigan (2019)

There were 27,339 abortions reported in Michigan in 2019, up two percent from the previous year. Chemical abortions jumped by 14 percent from 10,220 in 2018 to 11,609 in 2019, making up 42 percent of the total in 2019. The Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI) estimates that Michigan’s 2019 abortion rate was 14.5 abortions per 1,000 women ages 15-44, an increase of two percent from the prior year and higher than the national rate.
