
Elyse Gaitan
Research AssociateElyse Gaitan serves as a Research Associate at Charlotte Lozier Institute, where she supports various research efforts from abortion statistics to the pro-life safety net. Prior to her role as Research Associate, Elyse served as the Library Associate for Lozier Library for Life, Science, and Law. As Library Associate, she helped maintain the library database, a professional-level resource for scholars, lawyers, policy experts, and the public engaged in the pro-life issue.
Prior to joining CLI, Elyse worked part-time as a Library Assistant in New Jersey and completed a paid internship with Her PLAN, an initiative of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America focused on strengthening the pro-life safety net.
Elyse holds a B.A. in both History and Government from Fairleigh Dickinson University where she earned summa cum laude distinction. During her senior year, she completed an Honors thesis on Calvinist theology’s impact on race relations in the United States. She is a member of the Phi Alpha Theta and Pi Sigma Alpha honors societies.

Abortions in Massachusetts significantly increased from 2022 to 2023.
Abortion Reporting: Maine (2023)
Maine’s 2023 abortion report was published in October 2024. The report indicates that abortions increased from 2022 to 2023.
Abortion Reporting: Ohio (2023)
Ohio’s 2023 abortion report was published in September 2024 by the Ohio Department of Health. Abortions increased in the state from 2022.
Abortion Reporting: Kentucky (2023)
Kentucky’s 2023 abortion report was published by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services in September 2024. In their 2023 report, the Cabinet published several new categories of data and discontinued the reporting of certain categories. Abortions occurring in Kentucky significantly decreased from 2022 to 2023.
Abortion Reporting: Georgia (2023)
In 2023, OASIS reported that there were 30,856 abortions reported to have been performed on Georgia residents, both inside and outside of Georgia.
Abortion Reporting: Oregon (2023)
Oregon’s 2023 abortion statistics were published in November 2024 on the state’s Induced Abortion Dashboard run by the Oregon Health Authority’s Center for Health Statistics. During 2023, reported abortions in the state increased from 2022.
Abortion Reporting: West Virginia (2023)
West Virginia’s 2023 abortion statistics by quarter were published throughout 2023 and into March 2024, showing that abortions in the Mountain State have decreased exponentially since 2022.
