
Mia Steupert, M.A.
Research AssociateMia Steupert serves as Research Associate at the Charlotte Lozier Institute, where she focuses on conducting research on abortion statistics at the national and state levels and how changing legislative environments in the states impact abortion provision and data.
Prior to joining CLI, Mia was a research intern at a conservative think tank where she focused on the inner workings of Planned Parenthood and sexuality legislation at the federal and state levels. Mia also interned at the Institute on Religion and Democracy where she wrote articles for their blog on politics and the Catholic Church.
Mia holds an MA in Government with a concentration in law and policy from Regent University with honors and a BA, cum laude with distinction, in Political Science from Emmanuel College. Mia has completed two thesis papers- a graduate thesis on Catholic sexual ethics and an undergraduate thesis on the American nuclear family and government policy and is a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha and Kappa Gamma Pi honor societies.
In her free time, Mia likes to play softball and golf, read and write about Catholic theology, cook, and be with friends and family.

Wyoming’s 2021 abortion report was published online by the Wyoming Department of Health in June 2022.
Abortion Reporting: Wisconsin (2020)
Wisconsin’s 2020 abortion report was released in May 2022, showing that abortions in the state decreased for the first time since 2015.
Abortion Reporting: West Virginia (2021)
West Virginia’s 2021 abortion statistics were published in August of 2022, showing that abortions in the Mountain State have increased since 2020.
Abortion Reporting: Georgia (2021)
Georgia released its 2021 abortion statistics in its online vital statistics database in July 2022. Georgia resident abortions increased from the previous year.
Abortion Reporting: Delaware (2020)
Delaware’s 2020 abortion report was published online by the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services. The report shows that abortions increased in 2020 from 2019.
Abortion Reporting: Michigan (2021)
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services published Michigan’s 2021 abortion statistics in June 2022, showing that abortions are up in the Great Lakes State.
Abortion Reporting: Oklahoma (2021)
Oklahoma’s 2021 abortion report was published online by the Oklahoma State Department of Health in May 2022. The report shows that abortions increased in the Sooner State.
Abortion Reporting: New Jersey (2020)
New Jersey's 2020 abortion statistics were provided by the New Jersey Department of Health to the Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI) upon request in August 2022. The statistics given to CLI also included 2019 statistics; however, this report focuses mainly on 2020 data, with some 2019 data included in Figures 1 and 2.
Abortion Reporting: Vermont (2020)
Vermont’s 2020 abortion statistics were published online as part of the state’s full vital statistics report in July 2022. The report is available on the website of the Vermont Department of Health.
Abortion Reporting: Louisiana (2020)
Louisiana’s 2020 abortion report was published by the Louisiana Department of Health in March 2022. The report shows that abortions declined from 2019.
