Abortion Reporting: New Hampshire

Last updated: March 29, 2023

New Hampshire does not collect or report abortion data.

New Hampshire has not reported abortion data to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control since 1997.
In response to an inquiry from the Charlotte Lozier Institute in November 2017, the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services informed CLI,

“Please be advised that there are no reports available from the NH DHHS, DPHS, as our agency does not carry out surveillance activities or collect data relating to abortions.  We are also not aware of any other New Hampshire agency performing surveillance or collection of that data.”

The Centers for Disease Control’s 1996 abortion surveillance report was the last to include New Hampshire data.

Other Available Information

The Guttmacher Institute estimates that 2,050 abortions were performed in New Hampshire in 2020.
