CLI and SBA File Comment on HHS Mandate

Today the Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI), the education and research arm of Susan B. Anthony List (SBA), joined with SBA in filing a comment on the preventive services mandate included in the Affordable Care Act.  The comment calls on HHS to rescind or amend the rule to exclude all conscientious objectors from its provisions requiring employers to make abortion-inducing drugs available to their employees at no cost.

Discussion of this issue to date has understandably been dominated by religious liberty concerns, but groups like CLI and SBA base their ethic of life on principles accessible to people of all faiths or no faith at all.  Pro-life groups, whether religious or not, are threatened across the board by the Obama Administration’s unprecedented mandate.
