Abortion Reporting: Arizona (2018)

Arizona’s annual abortion report for 2018 shows that total abortions in the Grand Canyon State experienced little change between 2017 and 2018. However, the makeup of abortion procedures used in the state continued to show a significant increase – almost 10 percent – in the number of abortions performed by chemical means. The report was published online by the Arizona Department of Health Services in October 2019.

New Jersey’s annual abortion report for 2017 was provided to the Charlotte Lozier Institute by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services. The state report shows a decline in abortion but includes less than half the abortions performed in the state.

Abortion Reporting: Vermont (2017)

There were 1,203 abortions reported in Vermont in 2017, down seven percent from the 1,298 reported in 2016. Of the abortions reported in 2017, 639 were chemical abortions, a decrease of almost 10 percent from the previous year. Chemical abortions made up 53 percent of the abortions reported in 2017.

Texas’ annual abortion report for 2017 was published on the website of the Texas Department of Health and Human Services in August 2019. The report shows that abortions in the Lone Star State continue to fall.

According to an annual abortion report published by the South Dakota Department of Health in July 2019, reported abortions in South Dakota hit a record low in 2018. The drop in abortions occurred after an increase in 2017.
