Abortion Reporting: New Jersey (2016)

New Jersey’s 2016 abortion report shows that abortions in the state have increased. However, abortion reporting in the state is not mandatory for all abortion providers, meaning that abortions in the Garden State are underreported. New Jersey does not publish its abortion report online but made it available to the Charlotte Lozier Institute upon request.

Congress to Hear from Scientific Experts on Ethical Alternatives to Aborted Fetal Tissue Research

A U.S. House of Representatives subcommittee will hold a hearing on “Exploring Alternatives to Fetal Tissue Research” tomorrow, December 13 at 10:00 AM in Rayburn HOB 2154. The hearing comes as the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services re-evaluates funding for research using tissue from aborted babies.

Pro-life Advocates Ask U.S. Supreme Court to Uphold Two Indiana Pro-life Laws

The national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) has submitted an amicus curiae brief asking the U.S. Supreme Court to uphold an Indiana law protecting unborn children with Down syndrome from eugenic abortion. Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI), SBA List’s research arm, and Americans United for Life (AUL) also submitted an amicus curiae brief in the same case, asking the Court to rule on the constitutionality of a second Indiana law that requires the humane and dignified disposition of human fetal remains.

Abortion Reporting: Arizona (2017)

Arizona’s abortion report for 2017, published online by the Arizona Department of Health Services in October 2018, shows that abortions in the state declined from 2016. The 2017 report is the first with information on babies born alive during abortions in Arizona.
