Mia Steupert, M.A.
Research AssociateMia Steupert serves as Research Associate at the Charlotte Lozier Institute, where she focuses on conducting research on abortion statistics at the national and state levels and how changing legislative environments in the states impact abortion provision and data.
Prior to joining CLI, Mia was a research intern at a conservative think tank where she focused on the inner workings of Planned Parenthood and sexuality legislation at the federal and state levels. Mia also interned at the Institute on Religion and Democracy where she wrote articles for their blog on politics and the Catholic Church.
Mia holds an MA in Government with a concentration in law and policy from Regent University with honors and a BA, cum laude with distinction, in Political Science from Emmanuel College. Mia has completed two thesis papers- a graduate thesis on Catholic sexual ethics and an undergraduate thesis on the American nuclear family and government policy and is a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha and Kappa Gamma Pi honor societies.
In her free time, Mia likes to play softball and golf, read and write about Catholic theology, cook, and be with friends and family.

Abortion Reporting: Georgia (2022)
Georgia released its 2022 abortion statistics through its online vital statistics database in August 2023. The data showed that resident abortions increased from the previous year.
Abortion Reporting: Montana (2021)
Montana’s 2021 vital statistics report, which contains the state’s abortion data, was published on the website of the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services in July 2023. The report shows that Montana abortions increased in 2021.
Abortion Reporting: Colorado (2022)
Colorado’s 2022 abortion report was provided to Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI) upon request by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment in July 2023. The report shows that abortions increased from 2021.
Abortion Reporting: Missouri (2021)
Missouri’s 2021 abortion report was published online in July 2023, showing that Missouri’s reported abortions continued to decrease from 2020, reaching the lowest number ever recorded in the state.
Abortion Reporting: South Carolina (2022)
South Carolina’s 2022 abortion report was published in June 2023. The report revealed that abortions increased in 2022 from 2021.

Wyoming’s 2022 abortion report was published online by the Wyoming Department of Health in June 2023.
Abortion Reporting: South Dakota (2022)
South Dakota’s 2022 abortion report was published by the South Dakota Department of Health in June 2023. The report shows that total abortions (including chemical abortions) decreased from 2021.
Abortion Reporting: Nebraska (2022)
Nebraska’s 2022 abortion report was published in June 2023, showing that abortions had increased in the state from 2021.
Abortion Reporting: Minnesota (2022)
Minnesota’s annual abortion report for 2022 was published online by the Minnesota Department of Health in July 2023. The report shows that Minnesota’s abortion total increased from 2021.

Indiana’s 2022 abortion report was published in June 2023, revealing that abortions increased from 2021 in the Hoosier State.
