Mia Steupert, M.A.
Research AssociateMia Steupert serves as Research Associate at the Charlotte Lozier Institute, where she focuses on conducting research on abortion statistics at the national and state levels and how changing legislative environments in the states impact abortion provision and data.
Prior to joining CLI, Mia was a research intern at a conservative think tank where she focused on the inner workings of Planned Parenthood and sexuality legislation at the federal and state levels. Mia also interned at the Institute on Religion and Democracy where she wrote articles for their blog on politics and the Catholic Church.
Mia holds an MA in Government with a concentration in law and policy from Regent University with honors and a BA, cum laude with distinction, in Political Science from Emmanuel College. Mia has completed two thesis papers- a graduate thesis on Catholic sexual ethics and an undergraduate thesis on the American nuclear family and government policy and is a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha and Kappa Gamma Pi honor societies.
In her free time, Mia likes to play softball and golf, read and write about Catholic theology, cook, and be with friends and family.

Delaware’s 2021 abortion report was published online by the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services. The report shows that abortions decreased in 2021 from 2020.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health provided Massachusetts’ 2021 and 2022 abortion statistics to the Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI) upon request. This article will mainly cover 2022 statistics. Abortions in the Bay State increased from 2021 to 2022.

Utah’s 2021 abortion report was published online by the Utah Department of Health & Human Services in July 2023, showing that abortions increased significantly in 2021.
Abortion Reporting: North Dakota (2022)
North Dakota published its 2022 abortion report in August 2023. The report shows that the number of abortions in the state decreased significantly from 2021.
Abortion Reporting: Georgia (2022)
Georgia released its 2022 abortion statistics through its online vital statistics database in August 2023. The data showed that resident abortions increased from the previous year.

Montana’s 2021 vital statistics report, which contains the state’s abortion data, was published on the website of the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services in July 2023. The report shows that Montana abortions increased in 2021.

Colorado’s 2022 abortion report was provided to Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI) upon request by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment in July 2023. The report shows that abortions increased from 2021.

Missouri’s 2021 abortion report was published online in July 2023, showing that Missouri’s reported abortions continued to decrease from 2020, reaching the lowest number ever recorded in the state.
