Human embryos should not be grown for research, manipulated like mice in a lab, or used instrumentally at all. Those who care about the sanctity of life support a zero-day limit that will preserve respect for every human life and refrain from exploitation of or injury to human subjects.

Texas’ annual abortion reports for 2018 and 2019 were both published in December 2020. The reports indicate that chemical abortion continues to increase in the Lone Star State.

Lozier Institute Hires Stephen M. Billy as Executive Director

Prior to joining CLI, Mr. Billy worked in the Trump administration from 2017-2020, serving as senior advisor at the White House Office of Management and Budget, deputy chief of staff at the Office of Personnel Management, and deputy chief of staff at the Bureau of Industry and Security. Billy also served as chief of staff to a North Carolina pro-life congressman.

Arizona’s 2019 abortion report was published online by the Arizona Department of Health Services in October 2020. The report is the first to be published since Arizona revised its abortion reporting standards in 2018.

“For many Americans, the approval of Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine raises renewed questions about the use of cells derived from elective abortions. Many leading vaccine candidates supported by Operation Warp Speed, including the approved vaccines produced by Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna, do not use abortion-derived cell lines in their production. Unlike the majority of those candidates, Johnson & Johnson does use these cell lines in the production process.

Effects of Pregnancy Loss on Subsequent Postpartum Mental Health: A Prospective Longitudinal Cohort Study

Pregnancy loss, natural or induced, is linked to higher rates of mental health problems, but little is known about its effects during the postpartum period. This study identifies the percentages of women receiving at least one postpartum psychiatric treatment (PPT), defined as any psychiatric treatment (ICD-9 290-316) within six months of their first live birth, relative to their history of pregnancy loss, history of prior mental health treatments, age, and race.

Late Friday afternoon, Planned Parenthood released their annual report for 2019-2020. As always, this report contains glossy color photos and statements from Planned Parenthood leadership. However, the most interesting part of these annual reports is the data they include about Planned Parenthood’s services.  Planned Parenthood spokespeople and their allies in the media frequently argue that abortion constitutes a small fraction of their activities. However, the data contained in their annual reports tell a much, much different story.
