Funding the Nation’s Largest Abortion Business: An Investigation into Public and Private Support of Planned Parenthood

This study discloses the publicly available external funding sources for Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Inc. and its affiliates from 2016-2024, primarily focused on the years between 2019-2024. Identified funding sources encompass government sources, sources of government-facilitated funding, and lesser-known sources. This research demonstrates that Planned Parenthood prioritizes abortion access above all else.

Abortion Reporting: Montana (2023)

Montana’s 2023 vital statistics report, which contains the state’s abortion data, was published by the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services in March 2025. The report shows that Montana abortions increased significantly in 2023. The data published by the state does not include the total number of abortions obtained by Montana residents out of state or the number of self-managed abortions on women outside of the healthcare system. It is also unlikely that the report contains the total number of mail-order abortion drugs obtained by Montana residents prescribed by licensed abortion providers in other states.

Alaska released its 2024 abortion statistics in March 2025. The report shows that the total number of abortions increased by two from 2023.

New York’s 2022 abortion statistics were published online by the New York Department of Health in March 2025, showing that abortions performed on New York residents increased significantly from 2021. In what follows, the information in the abortion report published by the state will be summarized. The data published by the state does not include the total number of abortions obtained by nonresidents in the state, New York residents obtaining abortions out of state, or the number of self-managed abortions on women outside of the healthcare system.

West Virginia’s 2024 abortion statistics by quarter were published throughout 2024 and into March 2025, showing that 11 more abortions occurred in the Mountain State in 2024 compared to 2023. The data published by the state does not include the total number of abortions obtained by West Virginia residents out of state or the number of self-managed abortions on women outside of the healthcare system.
